Testimonial for Liposuction

Starting in my early teens, I made exercising and healthy eating a priority. I followed this lifestyle well enough to keep my weight from fluctuating no more than 5 lbs. up or down.

After having my first and only child at age 39, my body began to change. I saw that I my body did not respond the same way, even though I was still exercising aerobically, strength training and eating pretty well.

It’s not that I hated my body, but my clothes just didn’t fit the same way. I noticed that no matter how much I counted calories and increased exercise, I could not return to my previous shape. I could lose weight, but I would start looking gaunt and it never seemed to make a whole lot of difference in my problem areas.

I know I am not the next middle aged supermodel, but I had always been confident that I could put myself together and carry myself well. My perception started to change. I became very discouraged and started losing motivation and confidence that I could put enough effort into getting to a place where physically and mentally I felt OK about myself. It became a vicious cycle of thinking “why bother”. I did keep exercising and eating as well as I could , but I found myself obsessed with negative thoughts. I didn’t feel good dressed up and I found myself avoiding any clothing that revealed my shape. I was always thinking if I was just 10-15 lbs. lighter and I’d be fine.

Liposuction seemed like an extreme solution to me. It is surgery, after all, with risks and recovery time. And it wasn’t about weight loss—it was for body contouring. After thoroughly researching and considering this procedure, I thought liposuction might be a good solution for me.

I feel very fortunate to have received a great referral from a dermatologist that I trusted. Dr. Daw and his staff led me through the process and I had a very good understanding of what the surgery was all about. I never once felt over promised or misled. All my questions were answered, pre-op and post-op.

I still had some big concerns, though. I was afraid of creating even more obsession with my body. Was I being self-centered or narcissistic? What if I was still unhappy with myself? How would this affect my relationship with my husband? I was also afraid that the scarring would be quite bothersome to me.

Even as I was at the surgical center, I was self-conscious about going through with this elective cosmetic procedure. The knowledgeable and supportive nurses at the surgical center assured me this was a reasonable choice I was making and some of them were planning to get it done themselves by Dr. Daw.

As I began to recover from the liposuction surgery, my fears did not materialize. I knew that I had done as much as I could to achieve a physical and psychological freedom from the negativity I was feeling about my body. My negative obsession is gone and I am now more motivated than ever to maintain the “new” me. And I continue to enjoy more freedom as the results become more visible.

For me, liposuction was a very good experience. I understand now that all the time and dedication I spent exercising and eating properly were not wasted. They made me an ideal candidate for this procedure and have established a lifestyle that will allow me to maintain my new more proportionate and slender figure.

Testimonial for Breast Augmentation

To Whom It May Concern:

It is my great pleasure to offer a testimonial of my surgery experience with Dr. Daw. For me, the whole experience was positive, before, during, and after the surgery.

It all started when the silicone breast implant was approved by the FDA. Curious about the possibilities, I did my research on the internet, but still wondered what the doctors actually thought about it all. Intrigued, I set the appointment for a consult with Dr. Daw.

I knew from the start that Dr. Daw was extremely well versed in the subject of breast surgery, as I hear that he does many reconstructions (and more ‘serious’ breast surgeries than just augmentations). This information by itself gave me piece of mind, as I feel that only quality, top surgeons with deep understanding of the breast could perform both kinds of surgeries. Anyway, I was dreading the awkwardness of the consult, and instead found the experience to be rather enjoyable! He was able to not only make me feel comfortable and answer all of my questions, but he actually helped me articulate what I was trying to explain about the results that I desired. He was very attentive, understanding, and willing to work with me and all of my seemingly endless concerns. I left feeling really good. I was confident about the type of implant that I wanted, and that he was the right surgeon to do the job.

After the surgery, Dr. Daw actually met me at the office to check my dressings on a Holiday weekend when the office was technically closed. He was available the following days (New Years Eve and New Years Day) when I paged him with a question; and he called back so quickly, it was though he already had the phone in his hand. I was so impressed with his availability. I had never felt so supported!

I chose Dr. Daw on the basis of his plastic surgery expertise and his confidence in being able to affectively address all of my augmentation needs and wants. As a surgeon, I feel that he is a perfectly balanced combination of credentials and experience, skill and artistry, and confidence and compassion. I would recommend him to anyone who wants a meticulous, thorough, conservative doctor that will still provide the exact aesthetic results that YOU want. It was so refreshing to deal with the professionalism of him and his nurse, Lori, as they are so compassionate and sincere. I could tell that they genuinely respected my concerns, and took time to answer my questions. Lori was especially helpful, giving me little suggestions here and there, and some ‘tricks of the trade’ to make me more comfortable throughout the experience. She played a major part in making me feel secure during the process, and I was so thankful that she was there for me! They are really a fabulous team!

Testimonial for Liposuction

Dr. Daw has been great!  I have had him do liposuction on my abdomen and my back (right under the bra strap).  I have so much more confidence in myself and love how my stomach looks.  It is great when I run into people I haven't seen in awhile and they ask how I got my stomach so flat.  I proudly say I had liposuction and let them know it is "The Beautiful Work of Dr. Daw."

The scars are so minimal from the procedure that you have to look really close in order to even see them.  Honestly, it is like they are not there at all.  Dr. Daw has also performed a surgery to repair my earring hole due to an earring being pulled by a baby, and ripping my ear.  He has also removed a cyst on my lip.  I was worried that there was going to be a scar that I put off having it removed but he did such beautiful work that there is absolutely no scar at all!

I also go to him for Botox!  I started Botox for my 30th birthday in my forehead as I had some major lines and it affected my confidence when I was face to face with people.  After my very first injection, a couple days later, one of my co-workers asked what I had been doing because I looked "so refreshed."  I have been so pleased with the results that I have continued to get it and referred some friends to him for Botox as well.

The staff has been so great and one of the assistants had even held my hand during one of the procedures as everyone truly cares about the patients here.  I have also gone to Elizabeth for a facial and it was so wonderful and relaxing and my skin looked gorgeous afterwards.

I am very happy with all the results that I have received at The Institute of Aesthetic Surgery.  As soon as I can, I will be getting liposuction on my inner thighs and my upper arms and of course going back for another facial.
